Summary: We loved this hotel!!! The rooms were comfortable and everything is well thought out to make you feel like royalty(get it? Spain has a king).Breakfast was delicious with a really excellent array of options to choose from. The best best part is the staff, everyone we had contact with were absolutely spectacular and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. I especially want to thank Diego, who was very helpful and Gema the hostess at the restaurant. That said everyone and I mean everyone was a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend this hotel!

Summary: I was very excited to visit this hotel but it didn’t live up to my expectations. Check in lacked empathy and wasn’t very inviting, wasn’t requested to take a seat or offered any welcome drink. It was a process and lacked attention. 4/10. The lobby is very small and crammed, we waited over an hour for the room. The lobby toilets need attention and better cleaning. 4/10 While waiting we had a drink at the bar, which was decent with a selection of cocktails and wines but lacked ambience and attention. 6/10 The lifts are very small but relatively quick. Tranquility Room, although I specifically requested a room with more natural lighting this was a real let down. The room was very dark and very dim. The room itself is small and inviting with a comfortable bed and decent space for storing belongings. Room overall 7/10 and bathroom which was spacious and equipped with amenities more aesthetically pleasing 9/10 The hotel did acknowledge it was our anniversary and sent complimentary cava to our room which was a kind gesture. 10/10 Breakfast was probably the most pleasing with an array of selection and choice of fruits, breads, a la carte options and cava for breakfast. Waiters aren’t so attentive, had to request cutlery twice and noticed tables weren’t cleared promptly. 9/10 Overall the hotel was satisfactory, general cleaning standards are good but felt more of a 4*. It lacks invite and early check in/late check out requests seemed to be dismissed.

Summary: This is my second time staying at barcelo. Excellent location. Close to main spots but far enough so the outside streets are quiet. The staff are friendly and attentive. The room is ok nice but with really nice tub & a separate shower. This visit my room 212 was in a bit worse condition than my previous room. Door to bathroom wouldn’t close properly & the doors to toilet & shower would get stuck to floor. The AC works but is weird. You can have it at lowest setting and you won’t hear or feel heavy air blow out. But it. Does get the room cold eventually. We got cold at night. I appreciate that the room. Came with mini fridge and complimentary water, plus turndown service. The bed is comfortable. I would recommend they update their tv programming to allow guests to stream Netflix, etc. One annoyance was being charged extra to get into room early. I came from overnight flight. If the room has been cleaned and prepped, why charge someone an extra $75 euros. Just feel it should be complimentary at that point.
